For the second time this year, a vehicle has penetrated the roof of the Clay-Ray Veterans Hall located in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Excelsior Springs police received a call regarding the incident at approximately 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday.
Upon their arrival, they discovered that the car had indeed crashed through the roof, with the engine resting in the front yard. Authorities reported that one individual, the driver, was transported to a hospital, although their condition remains unknown.
Fortunately, there were no occupants in the building at the time of the incident. This occurrence marks the second instance since February in which a vehicle has collided with the roof of the Veterans Hall.
The previous incident involving a motorist crashing through the roof occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 15. As previously detailed, a 22-year-old man from Olathe crashed into the structure while fleeing from police after they attempted to stop him for a traffic violation.
During this event, the building was also unoccupied. However, three individuals were present in the vehicle, including the 22-year-old driver, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and two teenage girls, who incurred serious injuries. Police informed Nexstar’s WDAF that the roof had recently undergone repairs, and the cause of this latest crash remains undetermined.
